The Webmaster's Space
Well, it had to happen. After more than three years of doing this website for Andrew, I have finally decided to steal some space for myself!

You could see it coming... in recent months I started including photos of myself. Then I created mini-sections that were clearly just for me: in April I added The Antarctic Section and I've just linked in a new section, Nutmeg Mania! Nutmeg Mania is very much a work-in-progress - I've got lots of info but haven't organised it just yet. So all you Nutmeg enthusiasts hang tough - it'll be available soon.

I've got a few ideas for filling my space. I'll be sharing links to my current favourite websites with you - covering a wide range of topics from Yoga to Parenting to Search Engine Optimization!

I'll also point you to the latest cool sites I'm working on.

And tell you anything else you want to know! Just ask.

Anyone who has Yahoo! Instant Messenger, can see if I'm online and send me a message by clicking the button below.

The First Rant

The Art & Science of Webmastering

In this day an age when 3-year-olds have become adept at using computers, the process of creating a webpage has also been made incredibly easy.

But the software that bestows easy-to-use website development upon its users frequently falls short in other aspects of web design.

Open Air Office
The design, functionality and performance of a website are critical factors that a professional webmaster must take into consideration. That is to say, "It ain't all looks!"

Good websites are not as common as they should be. On a casual surf around the web, you are likely to stumble across image-rich sites that take forever to load, content-rich sites with masses of unorganised information, Flash-enabled sites that don't give you the choice to opt-out, and sites featuring the immensely popular "pop-under" ad which brings your surfing to a standstill and makes you want to switch ISP's.
Gotcha!
The Webmaster is Everywhere
So this is my plight... I love my job and I am continually driven by the endless possibilities the internet offers - as a professional webmaster I've got to strive to make it a better place for all of us!

In good webmastering there is art and there is science, but above all there is PASSION.
